like me, my friend & neighbor susan lives in a tiny cottage. hers is approximately 500 sq. feet.
she moved into the neighborhood about a decade ago. now she rents out her larger home and lives in one of the 2 cottages on her property.
like moss cottage, it's just the right size for one human and a few furry animals.
she has a private patio, an enormous rambling garden, and stellar views of the hills.
most of the garden is succulents.
the best tiny houses have no wasted space. her computer station is cleverly wedged into this small hallway.
in contrast her bedroom is spacious and bright.
this is henry pismo chillaxing on the bed. there's also jimmy pismo, but he was not available for a photo.
however, lulu was...
this oil painting is by local artist babara ciolino. captivating in its simplicity!
it's been a dozen years since moss cottage had an interior paint job. i'll probably stick to white, but this powder blue is a tempting choice.
when i got my whole-house fan last week, i also had ductless air installed. years ago it was suggested to me as a way to cool & heat more quietly & efficiently. it also freed up 2 windows that previously held cumbersome view/light blocking window units. ductless mini-splits (as they're known) aren't as common here as in europe, but they're becoming more-so. i won't know till winter sets in, but i probably won't need space heaters anymore. huzzah!
as usual susan leads the way, and i tag along behind, benefitting from her clever house tips & tricks.
