Darn it, up and jet lagged. I have no clue what I did on friday, but I am sure I was in the States. Probably in Las Cruces with my friends Marie and Rick. Ah, yes... we posted boxes back home and went shopping in Joanns... Lovely States Friday!

Since you ask, Friday evening was good - until at about 10 pm we noticed we found a fire in our chimney. So, not so good.
All is well though, thanks to our fabulous sapeurs-pompiers (fire fighters). One was a glam woman, even under a huge silver helmet. The drama lasted 3 hours. Blogging about it in a couple of days. Got to calm down and clean up first.

84 degrees! sounds like heaven. i will come drink that other drink with you. i have been out chipping ice on the driveway trying to get at least an area around the car so we can get in and out without breaking our necks.

You are too stinkin' cool! I should have known that you hang out at Posie Gets Cozy too!
Love the dutch oven. I just found a Le Cruset grey one at a church sale for 5 bucks! Loving it!
Seriously, you and Alicia are two of my three favorite bloggers. My go-to women for art, style, humor, loving life blogs.
Thanks for doing what you do so well!

Friday I thought was Saturday. Looked forward to an estate sale and brunch with a fine arts group. Went to the sale about 8:30am and wondered why there weren't any cars. folks said the sale is tomorrow. aargh! so no brunch either. alas! went home and back to bed. Saturday today brunch was fun, however, sale was over when I got there...wasn't happy.

It is now Sat morning, but yesterday I was gardening and savoring this divine L.A. weather. We are very lucky indeed. And now I'm off to finishing moving my scattered narcissus.
Have a great day!

Hey there missus djwest! I also have art rage but seem to enjoy sketchbook pro much more. I turn to it whenever I want to do sketches/doodles. I got the app when it was on sale for cheap. I love that some of the go on sale sometimes! I started with the other version of sketchbook. The non-pro version... Try that first and see if you like...
Have fun!!!!!!!!!

At first glance I thought the picture of your kitties was a picture of a cupcake- a spice cupcake with creamcheese frosting. What delicious looking cats! Happy weekend.

It's now Sat am, but while you were writing that I was peeling a mound of varied apples to get started slow cooking for apple butter. So easy to make, and on an English muffin screams New England, eh? Hrrumph to your 84 degrees: we are enjoying a heat wave of 50's here in Rhode Island, and it positively balmy.

We just finished up disc 3 of Mad Men Season 4 in anticipation of season 5 kicking off soon. Wyatt and Corky have the BEST life goin on for them...basking in the sun, not a care...And we've welcomed a new pooch (another rescue) into our home (there was an empty place in my heart that needed filling) and I am happy to report that she is snuggled under the covers in the 18 yo, DD's bed. Her name is Fibi, we call her Fibbers and she is quite the character. We are spending the evening just hangin out, relaxing and enjoying very simple pleasures and each others company.

Layin in bed writing an email to my niece about what a fine 3 year old boy she's raising. I had a play date with him today. We made a blue frog, a red bird and tatooed his arm so he could surprise his mom at bath time. We pushed spagetti noodles through hot dog slices and boiled them for lunch (spider dogs!), investigated how a truck is attached to a trailer and smushed Swiffer's poop through the plastic bag with our "feenders". We sorted animals into zoo and farm and had meaningful conversations about there being ducks at the zoo and yes! if Bwana wasn't careful, a tiger could be on a farm and eat the cow. It was a lovely day. I'm exhausted.

Finishing stovetop baking of homemade English muffins to enjoy my first of season Meyer lemon marmalade (how's the production on your tree coming?). Reading about and getting ready to prepare some of my beautiful new Rancho Gordo heirloom beans, this round will be Good Mother Stallard beans. Check out Rancho Gordo for inspiration! Mary Ann, they are available at CookBook Market in LA - wherever that is. These beanies seem like something you might like. You'd definitely appreciate the story behind them.

It was a chilly, wet day here in KC today (I'm jealous of your sunny 84 degrees); I spent most of it in sort/purge/file mode. Late afternoon I read some John Grisham short stories. Hubby got home late from work, so we had bacon and eggs for dinner. All in all, a quiet day. Tomorrow will be an Art Day with friends. Hope you have a great weekend!
