i am extremely persnickety & miserly when it comes to art books. this one is unputdownable!
which. is why i endeavored to sit at the kitchen table in the sunlight, drinking coffee with the slider open, reading every word, poring over the photos. today. hello sunday.
new flowers from the market. a fresh tablecloth. mild winter air circulating in from the open door.
with pictures!
beef stew bubbling away in the dutch oven. must push pause button. must push it now!

oh, you aren't persnickety or miser-ly with artbooks at all! you practically gave me five amazing ones. i like that julia person but am not getting any more books until I have more piles of canvasi completed and ready to sell. you never seem to struggle with productivity as i have, so i must be diligent! Norway has been one of my forever wishing places to go, ever since falling in love with Liv Ullmann 35 years ago and then that guy from five years ago, and finding that i just love me the nords! Danes are nice, too (from 25 years ago). it seems i'm way more in love with places because of the people there than i am with places because of the land forms there. except for hawaii. and i like words with friends. just scanning through the latest and had to blab about it. now i'm done. bye!

Another wonderful recommendation to add to my list. Think I'll go out and get some fresh flowers and put on a vintage table cloth. I think I may have a very similar one! Since it is dark and dreary here, it will make me think of southern California. Won't be long now before I get to see it in person. Coffee shop??

I bought those mugs at Starbucks a couple of years ago for my knitter friends. I didn't buy one for myself...what a dunce, eh? I've seen mugs with a similar pattern just recently, but can't remember which catalog. GRRRRRR.
Love the kitty paws. I will check our lame library for the book, I doubt they'll have it.

Dammit, another book I absolutely 'need' ;-) Is there ever a limit to how many sketchbook books I can love (I think not)? Also love the picture of your cats paws. So cute.

Thank you for this post, Mary Ann. My library has very few of the craft books I'm interested in. I went directly from your post to my library's interlibrary loan site and put in a request for the above book. You want DVDs? You want Blu-Ray discs? You want books on CD? Then go to my library. You want an interesting craft book? Lotsa luck.

The book looks pretty awesome. I love peeking at others art journals, the feeling of looking over their shoulders. I will have to add that book to my list. I've been known to pull it up on Amazon from time to time. Photos of course are a huge hit over here, especially those sweet, precious paws.

I love that mug in the picture - would you mind revealing where you got it from? I might *need* to have the exact mug! I'm convinced it'll make me as "crafty" as you! =)

Oh, I just put the book on reserve at our library...it looks wonderful.
One of my fb friends posted that she'd caught her cat accessing the internet with her smart phone today. Not with her paws, though. She just put her little nose up to the screen and nosed it to open the browser. Ha ha ha. The friend said her cat looked at her like, "you weren't supposed to see me do that."
Thank you again for your help with Aslan. It is moving right along and I'm so happy and excited.

OMG-I know, I love this book, too! I remember reading it this summer and also finding it "unputdownable".
Love the photos-including winter cat paws!
Love from Minnesota,
