After spending the day driving north singing my head off, sunroof open, intermittent NPR breaks to hear election coverage, I arrived in time for a spectacular sunset. My motel was perfectly located right on the headlands with lovely views, walking trails, and miles of OCEAN in Fort Bragg (correctly guessed by several savvy California travelers!) Winter rates allow me to stay in places I couldn't afford in the summer. I threw my bag on the bed and dashed out across the bluffs in time to see this:
sigh.
Dark forested roads lead to this remote stretch of coastline. Scene after scene of crushing beauty.
It's hard to take it all in, but I did my level best.
The Giveaway was fun. I promise I won't wait another 300 posts for another one. I detest accumulating too much STUFF. Moss Cottage is a wee place after all.
Okay I have to tell you I love your blog. Just every thing, your home, garden, art, cats, your writing. I'm here in NJ and this just transports me to such a different wonderful place. I mean it is beautiful here the leaves are changing and winter is coming and your blog is a luscious world of year round color and flowers. This may be the garden state but we don't get fruits and vegetables like that here. I've been going through your archives savoring them Oh yes I love the kids and the poems too! Mary

happy to see you are home again. When I looked up Glass Beach I drooled (literally - but I do that a lot) and then I read that removal of glass had been stopped (I can can see the reason, but still...) I look forward to seeing your photos of your adventure and reading your words.

We stayed at a B&B in Fort Bragg, the year 2000~~we drove from the wine country up Hwy 1! What I enjoyed most, was the rustic, intimate theater where we saw a play written by Steve Martin~
"Picasso at the Lapin Agile."
I too remember the beautiful sunset, and the waves crashing onto the rocks outside Mendocino....ummmmm.
